This article highlights the recent improvements that have been made to the Site Briefings Tool.
The new Site Briefings update (live as of January 20, 2025) has added two new settings to address a requirement for Site Briefing forms (e.g. Toolbox Talks or Daily Pre-Starts) to be able to be signed off each day a worker arrives at the site, without the intervention of the Site Team to manually resubmit a new form.

Requirements
Permissions: Company Host permissions are required to edit Site Briefing form settings. If you do not have access, please speak to your 1BC Administrator.
Settings: These settings can only be managed via the Web Portal. This is separate to submitting a Site Briefing form, which is available on the Mobile App.
What Has Been Updated?
Two new settings are now available when creating and editing site briefing forms. These settings are titled Default Expiry and Auto Renew and can be seen below.
Default Expiry
This is the default time a Site Briefing form will stop being active, and will no longer appear for workers on site to acknowledge. Previously, the default expiry date of all site briefings was set to the end of the day. Now, you can choose from the following settings:
- No expiry: The user submitting the form must manually provide an expiry date
- End of the day: The form will expire at 11:59 PM on the day of submission
- End of the week: The form will expire at 11:59 PM on the last day of the week
- End of the month: The form will expire at 11:59 PM on the last day of the month
Auto Renew
This is a new option that enables Site Briefings to auto-renew upon expiry, prompting workers to sign off on the newer version of the form without manual intervention from the Site Team. Previously, this required Site Teams to manually submit a new Site Briefing.
- If set to Yes: A new version of the Site Briefing will appear automatically after the expiry period with the same content included. Each new version ongoing will have a completely separate sign-off register associated with it.
- If set to No: The original version of the Site Briefing will disappear after the expiry date and if required in the future, a new one will need to be submitted to workers. This has been the default process since the introduction of the tool.
Note: If a Site Briefing is updated and submitted with new content, that will overwrite the existing Site Briefing form, requiring new signatures and becoming the default content used for all future copies that auto-renew.
