When a user responds to a question in a particular way, you may want to prompt a tailored follow-up question.
For example:
Question: Do you have a Medical Condition that may affect your ability to work?
Answer: If the person answers 'No,' they can continue filling out the Induction/Permit/Form without a follow-up questions. However, if the person answers 'Yes' you can ask them a follow-up question like, 'Could you please share some details about your Medical Condition that might impact your ability to work?'
This guide will walk you through the process of generating follow-up questions.

Web Portal Steps 💻
- Navigate to the 'Editor' tool located on the left-hand toolbar of your 1Breadcrumb portal. Select ‘Questions’ from the dropdown menu. A list of questions created will appear.
- Look for the follow-up question you want to attach to a question, when answered in a particular way. You can do this by scrolling through the list of questions or by using the search bar.
- Once you've identified the question, click on the black "Display Conditions" button.
- In the pop-up window, specify how you want the follow-up question to appear:
- ‘If Question’: Using the ‘If Question’ dropdown menu, find the question you want to attach this follow up question to. You can do this by scrolling through the list of questions or by typing the question into the ‘If Question’ dropdown menu.
- ‘Was Answered’: This will display the available 'Question Type' options created for this specific question. Using the checkboxes, select which response triggers the display of this follow-up question. Note: If the 'Question Type' options established for this particular question are inaccurate or need adjustments, you can make changes to the 'Question Type' options by referring to the 'Edit Question Sets' guide.
- ‘If Question’: Using the ‘If Question’ dropdown menu, find the question you want to attach this follow up question to. You can do this by scrolling through the list of questions or by typing the question into the ‘If Question’ dropdown menu.
- Upon making all the necessary changes, at the bottom of the pop-up window click the blue 'Add Condition' button.
🎉 Congratulations! Your follow-up question will now be attached to the question sets according to your chosen settings above 🎉

- Only Company Hosts and Site Hosts with Question permissions can create or modify a question. If you do not have permissions to create or edit a question, please reach out to your Company and Site Hosts.
- This function cannot be performed via the Mobile App. Please log into 1Breadcrumb via your computer or laptop.
