What is a geofence? It is a virtual boundary that surrounds a nominated physical place on a map. In Breadcrumb, it is generated after your project has been created.
Follow these steps to ensure the site's geofence covers the entire project, including all entry/exit points, or to check it has been created at the correct address.

Requirements 🔑
Permissions: Company/Site Host permissions with "Adjust Site Location" are required. If you do not have permissions, contact your Administrator.
Site Settings: The site must be set to "Public".
Private sites will be hidden from users that have not been invited (usually on high security projects).
Web Portal Instructions 💻
Step 1: Open the site's Project Settings
- Open the 1Breadcrumb Web Portal and select Sites from the left hand menu
- Search for the site you want to edit, and click on the Manage Site button
- From here, click on the Project Settings dropdown and check:
- Is Public Site: Toggle Yes or No.
Yes allows the phone app to detect a project's geofence for the user to check in.
No means every user expected to check-in to that project must be invited first. See more here. - Site Radius: This is how wide the geofence is.
- We recommend a geofence be no smaller than 50m and should cover all areas (eg carparking areas) surrounding the project.
- The maximum width a geofence can be is 500m.
- Address: This should be the project's street address.
Building details and levels are not required.
- Is Public Site: Toggle Yes or No.
- To finalise your changes, click the green Submit Changes button.
