Question Triggers & Automations
When a user responds to particular questions in a specific manner, you have the power to configure triggers that will automatically send email notifications or reject the answer with a message.

Create a email alert for when a user responds to particular questions in a specific manner
- Navigate to the 'Editor' tool located on the left-hand toolbar of your 1Breadcrumb portal. Select ‘Questions’ from the dropdown menu.
- A list of questions created will appear. Look for the specific question you want to establish an email notification for if answered in a certain way. You can do this by scrolling through the list of questions or by using the search bar.
- Once you've identified the question, click on the blue "Manage Triggers & Automations" button.
- In the pop-up window, define how you want the trigger to work when a question set is answered in a particular way:
- Part 1: “Define Triggers” Tab: Define the message (tag) you want to notify recipients of when a question is answered in a specific way.

- Under the ‘Define Triggers’ tab of the pop-up window, the question you have clicked will be displayed, along with the pre-established answer options. Under ‘When a user selects’ select the specific answer that you want to trigger an email notification to someone.
- When the specific answer is selected, under the ‘Do…’ heading, check the ‘Tag User’ checkbox.
- In the pop-up textbox, describe what this trigger should notify someone about, e.g., "Someone has answered YES to having a medical condition." Then click the "+" button.
- After describing the trigger, click the blue 'Add Action' button. This trigger will now be listed below, and you can set up automation to send this trigger to selected people when users answer this question in this way in the future.

- Part 2: “Automations” Tab: Under the 'Automations' tab of the same pop-up window, determine who you want to receive an email alert when this question is answered in this specific way.

- ‘Location’ options: decide whether the email recipient should receive notifications for this trigger across all active projects or for a specific site only.
- If the email recipient needs to be notified for this trigger when it's answered across any of the active projects, check the 'Company' checkbox and then click the blue 'Add global trigger' button.
- If the email recipient needs to be notified for this trigger when it's answered on a specific site only, check the 'Site' checkbox, then using the project dropdown menu that appears, find and select the relevant project and then click the blue 'Add trigger to [Your Selected Site Name]' button.

- Part 3: In the new pop-up window configure the email alert details:

- From the ‘Trigger’ dropdown menu, select ‘When a user is tagged’
- From the 'Tag' dropdown menu, choose the tag created in Part 1.
- Once tag is selected, from the 'Action' dropdown menu, select 'Send an Email.' and fill in the following:

- Email Subject: A brief subject for the alert, e.g., "You have been requested to be notified when someone answers a specific question in a particular manner"
- Send Email To Company Supervisor: Check this box if applicable. Note: The Company Supervisor is the individual whose contact information is recorded in your Company Settings.
- Send Email To Site Supervisor: Check this box if applicable. Note: the Site Supervisor is the individual whose email address is entered in the "Site Supervisor(s) Email Address" field within your specific site's Project Settings.
- Recipients: Add email addresses if not alerting the above supervisors.
6. Upon making all the necessary changes, at the bottom of the pop-up click the blue
'Save Changes' button.
🎉 Congratulations! Your question trigger will now be live and will email notify the relevant recipients according to your chosen settings above 🎉

Create a pop-up rejection message for when a user responds to particular questions in a specific manner ❌
- Navigate to the 'Editor' tool located on the left-hand toolbar of your 1Breadcrumb portal. Select ‘Questions’ from the dropdown menu.
- A list of questions created will appear. Look for the specific question you want to establish a pop-up rejection message for, if a question is answered in a certain way. You can do this by scrolling through the list of questions or by using the search bar.
- Once you've identified the question, click on the blue "Manage Triggers & Automations" button.
- In the pop-up window, define how you want the pop-up rejection message to work:
- Under the ‘Define Triggers’ tab of the pop-up window, the question you have clicked will be displayed, along with the pre-established answer options. Under ‘When a user selects’ select the specific answer option that you want to send a pop-up rejection message to someone if they select this answer.
- When the specific answer is selected, under the ‘Do…’ heading, check the ‘Reject User With This Message’ checkbox.
- In the pop-up ‘Reject Message’ textbox, type in the message you want to pop-up when someone selects this answer, e.g., "No PPE = No Check-In."
- After typing the pop-up message you want to appear when this answer is selected, click the blue 'Add Action' button. This pop-up rejection message will now be listed below.
🎉 Congratulations! Your pop-up rejection message will now be live and will prevent individuals from checking in/out of site or from submitting an Induction, Permit, Form or Asset Registration and will force the individual to complete the material if they answer this Question Set according to your chosen settings above 🎉

Requirements ❗
- To establish Question Triggers & Automations, the question set must already be created. To learn how to create a Questions, click here.
- Only Company Hosts and Site Hosts with Question permissions can create or modify a question. If you do not have permissions to create or edit a question, please reach out to your Company and Site Hosts.
- This function cannot be performed via the Mobile App. Please log into 1Breadcrumb via your computer or laptop.
