Explained: The Different Ways To Check-In

There are 6 different ways users can check-in with Breadcrumb.

Breadcrumb offers multiple ways of checking-in to a site, each using either a manual pathway or automatic.

Requirements

Get the Breadcrumb app. Most of the check-in options use the Breadcrumb phone app. See how to download the app to your mobile phone and set up your account here.

Automatic check-in requires one manual check-in first. That first check-in connects the user to that site.

Manual Check-In Options


Scan a QR Code 

An easy, and the most common way of checking in to a project.

  • Open your camera or click Scan QR in the Breadcrumb phone app

  • Aim the phone's camera towards the site's check-in QR Code 

  • Follow the prompts, complete your induction form and read any site updates shared
  • Click Check-in at the end

Older phones may not have a built in QR code reader. Download one from the App Store or Google Play Store.

Check-In Methods - 2

A great way to get straight into the Breadcrumb tools and stay on top of site updates.

  • Click the Check-In button from the Profile screen
  • Select your site and tap Confirm
  • Follow the prompts, complete your induction form and read any site updates that may have been shared
  • Click Check-in at the end

Sites appear in the list when you are within range of the geofence. You might see other surrounding projects using Breadcrumb - be careful to choose the one you are working on (Tip - read the company name!)

 

 

Site Manager (Site Host) check-in Host Check In - 4

If your phone is out of battery, or it was left at home, or it just doesn't want to work today, the Site Manager can use their phone to help check you in.

For Site Managers (with Host permissions):

  • Click the tile Host Check-In
  • Enter the worker's Mobile Number (no spaces), and wait for their name to show. If it doesn't, enter their details
  • Click Check In and follow the prompts up to the induction
  • Hand them your device to complete their inductions and read the site updates
  • Click Check-In at the end

 

Using Kiosk mode to check-in 

A site may have dedicated iPads or tablets available for checking-in,
or Site Managers with the correct Host permissions can convert their
own devices into Kiosk mode for users to check-in (see how to convert to Kiosk mode here). 

  • Once the device is in Kiosk mode, click Check In 

     

  • Follow the prompts, complete the induction form and read any site updates that may have been shared
  • Click Check-In at the end

 

 

 

 

Browser based / Web-app check-in

If your phone is old, damaged or of a cheap quality it may not be able to download or save apps anymore, this provides an alternative solution. 

Browser or web app check-in requires internet connection and access to a web page (in Google Chrome, Safari, MS Edge) and looks the same as the mobile phone app.

  • Open a new browser window and go to https://web.1bc.app/ and log in or set up your account
  • Select your site and tap Confirm
  • Follow the prompts, complete your induction form and read any site updates that may have been shared
  • Click Check-in at the end

 

Automatic Check-in


A convenient way to attend site, however it relies on the individual user to manually check their phone apps for any site notifications and updates.

  • Check your phone app is set with the correct permissions and settings to allow Automatic check-in to work. See how here.
  • The first day you arrive to site, use one of the manual check-in options to connect your phone app to the project
  • Future check-ins can occur automatically, pending the correct permissions and settings
