Different Ways you can Sign On to Site

SignOnSite provides multiple pathways for you to sign into the site to give you the greatest flexibility and control. Sign-in options are determined by both how the head contractor has the site set up, and your personal app settings.

Site Setup Options (managed by the Head Contractor)

When a site is set up in SignOnSite, the Head Contractor can manage how workers sign on and off the site. These options include:

  1. App sign-in options: Automatic / Manual / Prompted

  2. Kiosk sign-in option

  3. Site Manager or Subcontractor Supervisor reporting options

App sign-in options: Automatic / Manual / Prompted

Each site can be set in the preferred way for workers to sign into the site. These options are set up and managed by the head contractor and depend on the site conditions and preferred operating practices of the site. This option will impact your sign-in options and how your app works to sign on.

These options include:

  • Automatic

When a site is set to the Automatic sign-on option, this allows you to sign onto the site with your phone app either Automatically or Manually.

Automatic sign-on is a default setting for all sites unless changed.

    • When the SignOnSite App is set to Automatic will automatically sign into the site.

    • When the SignOnSite App is set to Manual you will need to open the app and search for the site to sign into the site.

  • Manual

When a site is set to Manual, you will need to search for a site and sign on every time you come to the site. This is regardless of whether you have set your phone to automatic or manual.

  • Prompted

A prompt sign-on option has been designed in instances where there are multiple sites nearby (i.e., several different sites in one high-rise tower).

After a first sign-on for a site, you will be prompted to sign onto the site when they enter the SignOnSite safety zone. You will not be signed on until you confirm sign on. This is regardless of whether you have set your phone to automatic or manual.

Site Specific QR Code

A QR code can be added to your site entry signs and gateways, giving your teams another way of signing on and accessing their site docs.

How do I access the Site Sign-On QR Code?

Site Managers can print the QR code from the Site Settings.

1. Find your unique QR Code in your Site Settings.

2. Right-click the QR Code to copy and paste it on your signs and posters.

3. Or, you may use our Sign-On With A Site QR code poster.

The QR code is particularly helpful for:

Kiosk sign in

A kiosk sign-in option is available instead of using a smartphone to sign on. This option is only available if the Head Contractor has set up a separate kiosk for signing on.

How to sign on with a kiosk

If there is a kiosk available on-site, site teams can also set up the option to read 'Briefings' on the kiosk and also the ability to complete Inductions.

Site Manager or Subcontractor Supervisor reporting options

Another option available to all workers on site is the ability to report to a Site Manager with SignOnSite Management access to sign you on. Site Managers can sign you on either their phone or the computer.

If there is a 'Briefing' set for the site, the Site Manager can show you the briefing, and they can mark you off as having read the briefing.

Worker Managed Options

  1. App sign-on option: Automatic or Manual

  2. Reporting to Site Manager

App sign-on options: Automatic or Manual

If a site is set to Automatic sign-on (see above), you have the control to set how you sign onto the site.

You can either set your app to Automatic (automatically signing you on or off-site) or Manual (requiring you to search for the site to sign on and manually sign off when you leave).

This setting is found under the 'App settings'

If you choose to use the Automatic sign-on option, you must be given your phone the correct app permission to ensure that your sign-on is accurate each time you enter and leave the site.

Reporting to a Site Manager

This option does not require you to use the app and will require you to report to a Site Manager who can sign you on and off.
