Add an Announcement to a Site

A guide for sharing an Announcement you have already created with a specific Site.

Announcements are used to share different types of media such as PDFs, Videos, Audio, Images, Text and more with your workers. Once you've created an Announcement, you can share it with a specific site, or attach it to a form or induction. This article will show you how to attach it to a specific site.

Requirements ❗

Permissions: Company/Site Host Permissions required. If you do not have permission, please contact your 1Breadcrumb administrator.

Actions: You must have first created an Announcement before sharing it with an active Site. Click here to learn how to Create an Announcement.


Web Portal Instructions 💻

Step 1: Navigate to Announcements

  • Click on the 'Editor' menu located on the left-hand toolbar of your 1Breadcrumb portal.
  • Select ‘Announcements’ from the dropdown menu.
  • Scroll down the page to find a list of existing Announcements.

Share an Announcement - Web - 1

  • Click the blue 'View Sites' icon.
  • Select “Add to all sites” to share the Announcement with All Sites.
  • Select "Select Site" and "Add site" to share the Announcement with a specific site.
  • Add your Announcement Settings using the instructions in Step 2.

  • After adding your Settings, select “Add To All” OR “Add site to Announcement".

Step 2: Add Announcement Settings

  • Use the calendar to define how long the Announcement is visible for the recipients:
    • Valid From: Select the day you wish the Announcement to be viewable to the recipients. This Announcement will be live and accessible to anyone checking in from the selected date onward.
    • Valid To: After the "Valid To" date, the Announcement will no longer be accessible to future check-ins. This is useful for communicating information applicable only to a certain time period, like delivering a Toolbox Talk to all relevant personnel involved in a weekend crane lift, for instance.
  • Display Time: Select when recipients will see the announcement by choosing from:
    • While Checked In: Recipients can view the announcement from their 1Breadcrumb profile after checking into the site.
    • Check-In Page: Recipients will be able to view the announcement as a part of completing the check-in process.
    • BothRecipients will be able to view the announcement as a part of completing the check-in process and will also be able to view the announcement from their 1Breadcrumb profile after checking into the site.
  • Mode: Choose how recipients are alerted of the announcement. Note, this will only be applicable to those who have their 1Bredcrumb notifications turned on.
    • SilentNo pop-up notification.
    • Notify Always: Pop-up notification of the announcement is sent whenever recipients open their 1Breadcrumb app.
    • Notify Once: A one-off 1Breadcrumb pop-up notification of the announcement is sent upon the first time the announcement goes live.
  • Force View Mode: Determine whether recipients are required to view and/or acknowledge the announcement by selecting from the following options:
    • Disable: Recipients can choose to open and view the announcement at their discretion.
    • Mandatory ViewRecipients are obligated to open and view the announcement.
    • Mandatory View and Sign OffRecipients must open, view, and acknowledge the announcement.
    • Set Play Through To MandatoryRecipients are unable to fast forward or skip.

Your announcement will now be live and shared with your selected sites.
