A guide for understanding the differences between the two supplier onboarding methods in 1Breadcrumb.
Before taking 1Breadcrumb onto your site, you will need to send onboarding emails to your subcontractors to get them to upload their documentation and complete other tasks. There are two types of onboarding options available to you that will be explained in this guide.
Table of Contents
Quick Onboarding
Quick onboarding is the recommended method for onboarding subcontractors and involves the Builder sending an email to the Subcontractor that provides a link to a "Supplier Portal" where they can upload their safety documentation, apply for permits before coming onto site, and induct any plant and equipment they will be bringing.
Pros:
- Quick and easy to manage for Subcontractors and Builders
- There is less emphasis on the Subcontractor to learn a new system
Cons:
- There is less functionality for Subcontractors working across multiple sites
- You will need to send the onboarding email for each new project
Full Onboarding
Full onboarding offers more functionality than the quick onboarding feature, but it is harder to manage for the subcontractor and is therefore not recommended for most Builders.
Additional Features in Full Onboarding
- Manage Safety Documents across multiple sites and builders
- Manage Permits across multiple sites and builders
- Manage Plant and Equipment across multiple sites and builders
- Track their own Plant and Equipment across their workers
- Create custom Inductions for their workers
- Access the Activity Report for their workers across multiple sites and builders
Pros:
- There is more functionality for Subcontractors working across multiple sites
- Builders won't need to send the onboarding email for each new projects
Cons:
- Harder to manage for Subcontractors and Builders
- Higher emphasis on the Subcontractor to learn a new system
