We take data privacy and our transparency around data protection very seriously. Below outlines how we treat user data.
Please note: we do not share or sell user data to third parties. Where required, we use your data, such as your location to provide location-specific features. See below for full details.
Check-in/Check-out Process:
- During check-in and check-out, a user's location can be recorded with their entry and exit logs, subject to the site's configured settings.
- This location data is not shared with any third parties.
- By default, location data is private. If hosts require location information, they will only see the proximity of the user to their site at the time of check-in and check-out (options include: On Site, Within 50m, Within 100m, Within 250m, or more than 250m away).
Note: The information you provide upon checking in to a site, belongs to the company requesting the information, while the information in your profile belongs to you. You can request to delete your data at any time, however this may impact your experience next time you use 1Breadcrumb. If you want to delete the information you provided to a site, you need to ask them to delete that.

Nearby Site Notifications:
- Users receive alerts when approaching a public site.
- This feature can be turned off at any time.
- It operates in two modes:
- Store On Phone: The device detects the user's location and compares it with a pre-downloaded list of sites, without sending this data to our servers.
- Cloud: The device sends the location to our servers to retrieve an updated list of nearby sites. However, the location data is not stored in our database.
- This feature is disabled by default and requires users to actively enable it if desired.
Data storage
All data is held on Microsoft Azure servers, which is encrypted. Meaning Microsoft do not have access to the data.
