Attach an Announcement to an Induction

If the Announcement is related to your Induction materials, you can include it in the induction content for viewing by the relevant audience.

Web Portal Steps 💻

  1. Navigate to the 'Editor' tool located on the left-hand toolbar of your 1Breadcrumb portal. Select ‘Inductions’ from the dropdown menu.
  2. You will see a list of all your created Inductions. Locate the desired Induction, then click the orange 'Edit' icon found in the far right column of the active Induction register.

  3. In the pop-up window on the right-hand side, click the green "+ Add Announcement" button.

  4. In the refreshed pop-up window, find the Announcement you want to include in the induction and using the dropdown box next to your chosen Announcement, specify whether recipients should view and/or acknowledge the Announcement by selecting from the following options:
    1. Disable: Recipients can choose to open and view the announcement at their own discretion.
    2. Mandatory View: Recipients are obligated to open and view the announcement.
    3. Mandatory View and Sign Off: Recipients must open, view, and acknowledge the announcement.
    4. Set Play Through To Mandatory: When uploading video media, recipients are unable to fast forward or skip the video.

  5. Once selected the Force View Mode, click the blue “+” button to include it into the Induction content.

    Hot Tip #1: 💥

    In the “Edit Induction” pop-up window you are able to change the order of items such as Questions, Documents & Announcements by clicking and dragging them.

    Hot Tip #2: 🔥

    By clicking the ‘Show Preview’ button located on the bottom right hand side of the “Edit Induction” window, you will be able to see a preview of how the induction will be presented to the inductee. 

  6. When satisfied with all of your induction settings, click ‘Update’ in the bottom right hand side of the pop-up window.

Requirements ❗

  • Only Company Hosts and Site Hosts with Announcement permissions can create and manage Announcements. If you do not have the permissions to create or send an Announcement, please reach out to your Company or Site Hosts.
  • An Announcement must be first created before including in any Induction material. Click here to learn how to Create an Announcement.
  • This function cannot be performed via the Mobile App. Please log into 1Breadcrumb via your computer or laptop.
